Hi Guys,

I moved away from DNN for a bit under the advisement of a programmer that was working for my company. Well needless to say it has not been a fun ride so I am back using DNN and I love the new features.

First, Is there a date for 6.2 release yet.

Second, can DNN as standard show a URL as http://domainname.tld/this-is-my-site rather than http://domainname.tld/thisismysite.aspx

Also does the homepage now appear as http://domainname.tld/
as before it was doing it for both. that and http://domainname.tld/home.aspx which was been listed as 2 pages by google with the same content.

Third, is there any new modules anyone knows of that can enable drag and drop on DNN without the whole site freezing or crashing as every system seems to have some drag and drop ability except DNN.

All help is greatly appreciated and before any one says it yes I know go with my gut instinct and stay with DNN from now on.

It was the drag and drop stuff that enticed me away as it makes it easier for end users with not much technical ability.

Thanks

Paul

For 1 and 2 I would recommend you check out Ifinity's URL Master Module. Bruce's URL solution is the only way to go IMHO, and is what we use here on dotnetnuke.com, it will handle both of your questions there.

I don't have any experience with D&D options.

Thanks Guys,

As for the Ifinity's URL Master Module. I found it hard to use. I paid for a full host licence which ended up being a waste of money as it crashed our dnn install and after a week trying to get the settings just right I had to remove it as it was causing issues with other modules.

Its a nice idea but it would be better if it was built into the core. But I understand only so many hours in a day and only so many people able to work on it.

Wordpress and other systems understand for marketing and usability these things are a must. I will contact Bruce and see if he can help me out as I would really like to use his module as it does so much I just do not want to end up with clients complaining about issues with modules.

Thanks
Paul

O also while I remember does anyone know of a module or widget that will allow you to past in forms as one thing that is a major issue for my clients is they can not copy a simple form from say mail chimp into DNN. I have to do it for them as they are not tech savvy, If not do you think it is possible to build something for pasting forms into DNN as I will have a go at building one if anyone thinks it is possible,

Thanks
Paul
