web.config file

Hi can anyone help

below i have posted code from my web.config file. I am on a shared hosting solution with 123 reg and there seems to be an issue with something in the webconfig file, connection settings and app settings.....I have tried to resolve this but getting nowhere. hosting people have tested that the DNS settings are pointing correctly by putting up a test page....my site works fine locally when viewed through webmatrix....

The problem looks to be in the connection strings section

Which looks entirely incorrect,

The name of the connection string should be SiteSqlServer - which is the default connection string for the SQL provider. It should look something like the following - you can replace the **********:

Thanks for getting back to me...
changed config file as you said still getting
500 - Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

connection string is thus:

app settings look thus.....

clutching at straws now as the provider wont go near dotnet...

Simon,

just a shot in the dark, as there is not too much to see from your posts: Do you really use the standard instance or is there some named instance when you connect to SQL Server (eg. instead of Server=ATLAS-SQL-07 it should be Server=ATLAS-SQL-07\SQLEXPRESS)?

To get a correct connection string, you can create a file on you desktop and name it with the extension UDL (eg. test.udl). Then double click it and enter the connection information you need until you succeed in testing the connection. Save the file, open it with a text editor (eg. Notepad) and there you find a correct connection string. You can then copy that string to your web.config file.
