Hi all,

I tried to install a fresh copy of DNN 6.2 but I received the error about the missing domain from the portals table.  So I manually entered the record in the portals & portalalias tables and now I get this error:

Exception Details: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Source Error:

Line 307: {
Line 308:
Line 309: foreach (TabInfo tab in PortalSettings.ActiveTab.BreadCrumbs)
Line 310: {
Line 311: strTitle += string.Concat(" > ", tab.TabName);

Source File: c:\Websites\DNN62\Default.aspx.cs    Line: 309

I wiped the database and started over but the same error appears.

Any ideas how I can fix this?

Thanks,

Mark

in general you should not use the source release unless you plan to debug through dotnetnuke core code - use install (or upgrade for an upgrade). If you do use the source release, you have to switch to release configuration and build to create all the necessary packages before you create your dotnetnuke site.

Cathal,

Sorry, I meant the install files, not source. Not sure what I thinking when I typed the title.

I got it working by deleting everything and creating a new folder, IIS entry, DB, etc. All is well now.

Thanks,
Mark
