Just wondering if it is possible to assign different color for each tab in the main menu.

Will this require a code change or creation of a new skin.

The best would be if there was a setting in the page for each tab/page to assign a color for it.

Could anyone please let us know if there is any easier way to achieve this.

Thanks.

It's possible, using DDR menu.

You would have to change the XSLT so it includes the order of the tabs in the.

Something like:

<li>
<xsl:attribute name="class">
                        Item<xsl:value-of select="count(preceding-sibling::node)+1"/>
                    </xsl:attribute>
</li>

Another solution would be to create a class based on the page name.
Then you add styling to skin.css to address either .Item1, or .PageName

THeonly way I think of to set the menu item color from the admin interface would be by using a page icon used as a background-image in the menu, but that doesn't feel like a workable solution.
(unless you have a set of predefined colors)
