Currently i have a installation of DNN 6.1.5 with 1 parent and 35 child portals, all with AD authentication and we had to role back an upgrade of the AD module to the 5.0.3 because we cannot configure the AD auth 5.0.4 to work with child portals. We are on a Windows server 2008 r2 and have been working with dnn support for weeks to get our issue resolved with no success. Basically we cannot be authenticated to a child portal, without having to go to the parent portal first. Even DNN support told us we need to purchase a AD authenication module to successfully get AD authentication to work. Has anyone resolved this issue? Is the next version of AD authentication going to have a fix for this?

I've been running the AD connection since back in the 3.12 days, and currently have about 140 portals, most of which are child portals. They all work with the AD connector, so I'm a bit confused by a requirement to purchase an anything.

I'm not sure why DNN Support said you'd have to purchase a third party module but then, not being a DotNetNuke employee, I don't always get referred to on these things.

I think I have a fix for it but got sidetracked by my day to day work and didn't put out a beta for testing. Jimmy and Dan, if you want, you can email me directly (michael.john.horton@gmail.com) and I'll send you the test package so that I can have some further testing by users who are actually running child portals and the AD provider.

The only issue I know if is that one where you occasionally get re-directed to the parent portal.  That only seems to be an issue on the Intranet side though.

Is that the one you are referring to?

That's the one Dan. Maybe I'm misreading Jimmy's post but I thought that's what he was seeing as well.
