Hello all,

I have a couple of newe pages of a site that I'm testing with using the latest DNN version.  The main page of the hierarchy comes down off of the homepage.  Then on that page, there is a page, and then there is a child of that page.  I can see the first page that I created off of the homepage, but once on that page, it's impossible to see any of it's children.  What am I doing wrong, and what do I need to do to get the children to show up in the page management section off portal administration?  All I can see are the pages that are off the homepage.  And if I can't see them in portal administration, does that mean that they are not there?  I wouldn't think so because when I go to create a new page, I can see them just fine.  What am I doing wrong here?  Thank you for any information you can provide; it's much appreciated.

Katherine,

did you add the pages in "View" mode, and set them up that they are only visible for Administrators? Try to change to "Edit" mode, and look if they are there.

Best wishes
Michael

I've been in edit mode the entire time, and I still cannot see them except while adding a new page to the site, then I can see them in the combobox where you select the page position.  If I select child of, I can make a page a child of one of these pages.  But with Oliver Hine's control panel installed, I have not figured out how to change the mode yet.  But as far as I know, all pages are visible to everyone since the result is the same even when logging in as host or as administrator.

I just thought I'd post this seemingly new development that has since occurred.  Basically, last night, I went to explore the settings of each of the child pages of this one page, and I could see all of the visibility settings clearly.  It seems like the pages are visible to everyone, definitely.  But there's one very strange development that even I cannot figure out.  I was just looking at the IIS logs for the past couple of days, and all I see are requests for skin objects.  I also have the watcher's net module actions skin object installed as well as the advanced control panel sweet.  Could those be messing with this?  It seems that no page which I have created underneath the offending page is even showing up in the IIS logs, yet I have been able to see them after adding another page and landing on it to edit it.  Only then can I traverse the child pages.  Basically the site is as follows:

http://accesscop.org

http://accesscop.org/articles/Microso...

http://accesscop.org/articles/Microso...

And so on.

The pages which are not viewable from edit mode seemingly are those that are children of the articles page.  Like I said, I can only see them after creating another page under one of them and then editing it.  Yet I have checked visibility, and all looks good.  And just for your inforrmation, clicking any of those links will simply show a 404 because I can't open my site to the public at the moment.  I just put them up there to show how the site is structured.  But on another note, most of the requests to the site over the past few days have been for skin objects and graphics files seemingly belonging to the watchers net module actions menu.  Any additional information you have for this would be great.

Katherine,

are you creating the pages on the Pages administration page? This module uses AJAX, so it only updates the part of the page with the module itself, and not the menu. Anyway, as soon as you refresh or leave the page, the new pages will be visible as expected. This was confusing me as well for a while, but the behaviour is "normal".

Best wishes
Michael
