I wish I knew that since Oliver Hine's Advanced control panel sweet seems to obscure the default control panel, so the "pages" option is now gone from administration.  So now I have to figure out what the alternates are.  But to answer your question, no, I had created the page directly from another page and not from the admin menu.  I'll have to take a quick look and see if those menu options are still there, but obscured. Because if I remove Oliver's alternative control panel, management of the site is all but impossible. It is thanks to him that the administration sections of the site are now accessible to screen readers.  So now that I know that the pages are there, but the menu isn't updated, how then to I update the menu and make up for creating the page from the wrong section?  And thank you for your clarification; it really helps me to understand how DNN works.  I'm a nooby coming from Mojo Portal, so I have to get used to the new ways of doing things.

Well... I have not tried Oliver's and Sebastian's Control Panel with DNN6 yet. I loved this with DNN5, but the new control panel has improved a lot and is really cool. So I uninstalled it always before upgrading. Maybe it works with AJAX as well, and has ths behaviour, I can't say.

Best wishes

I have contacted Oliver, and so I'm going to wait and see if he has any feedback on this particular issue.  Because if I uninstall it, yes, the default control panel is really cool-looking, but for blind people, accessibility always comes first, the site will go back to being inaccessible during module manipulation; the combobox for accessing modules to place on a page is inaccessible as it is right now, and there are no plans to fix or change it. I am not a developer who could change anything right now considering I'm just learning.  But just for the heck of it, I'll try uninstalling it and then changing the layout from ribbonbar to iconbar and then see if I missed a caveat or something like that that Oliver mentioned?  But is there perhaps a way of updating the menu after pages are created?  Because I think that the menu is still a bit behind.

Katherine,

try refreshing the page or move to another page. If AJAX is the evil part, then the menu should be updated after a (full) refresh.

Best wishes

I'll try that once I reinstall DNN.  It was all I could do seeing that Oliver and Sebastian's control panel does not come up in the list of extensions.  Now please tell me something, if you don't mind.  I have found that using the iconbar view (in the default control panel), pretty much produces the results for accessibility with screen readers I was looking for, so if that view is used, then does this problem of child pages not showing up and the menu not being updated occur?  Thanks.
