I tried with these indications.

In classic mode or in pipeline mode with the two commands, ad authentication work but no autoconnect. If I access to windowssignin.aspx page manually, everything works so I think there is no redirection triggered.

I let blank Auto-login IP Address but i will try with some internals values to see if there could be a problem.

Edit: it's the same thing when i enter manually somes IPs

Mike, I found something a little weird.

I tried to update a 4.9 dnn with ad authentication enable.Update to dnn6.2, installation of ad provider 5.0.2, upgrade to 5.0.4.Everythings works in pipeline mode (same server as the clean installation).

I cleaned the web.config of the new install, copy/paste the <location item, the <authentication.
I disable the loadUserprofile on the appPool. Now the systems seems very similar but the new instance doesn't work instead of the upgraded one.

Found it.
I didn't enter username/password in the ad provider. Everything was green without defining any user:

Accessing Global Catalog:
OK
Checking Root Domain:
OK
Accessing LDAP:
OK
Find all domains in network:
5 Domain(s):......

If I set a user, everything is fine AND the autologin works. Is it now mandatory?

Excellent, thanks Jean.

This little quirk with having to specify the username/password to read from AD for autologin, solves a long standing issue I've had with 302 redirection for search engine bots on public sites.

For our intranet I'll specifiy the un/pw, but for any public facing sites where ad is used just leave blank.
