Please help me with this I am trying to get this set up on my own server

Ok I am trying to install the new version of DNN 4.3.0 and when I try to post a entry to my blog I get this error. Now on the other pages that talked about this error they said that it was a Godaddy problem. But I am installing the DNN on my own server.

So what I would like to know is what is causing this problem and how to fix it. :)

Can someone please give me a small step by step reason and fix for this problem.

Thanks

Allen

what is your server setup? did you enable ASP.NET 2.0 for the site, did you give the worker process user modify rights on the webroot? Are you running other asp.net 2.0 apps in the same iis site? Did you rename release.config to web.config?

cheers,

Erik

Eric,

I am running Windows 2003. Yes I enabled ASP.Net 2.0, yes I gave read and wright rights to the webroot, No I am not running another Asp.Net 2.0 on this same site and yes I renamed release.Config to Web.config.

The only thing I did not do is create a Virtual Directory, I placed it in its own web file.

I am kinda if loosing my mind over this I have tried everything I can think of to get this working.

Thanks

Allen

You should use ASPNET 2.0 runtime in order to work with DNN 4.x series

I have a similar problem...

I installed the 4.3 starterkit.  When vs.net 2005 first built it, it went through without problem.

However, if I want to build web site, again, it fails at the Blog module and says

"c:\inetpub\wwwroot\DotNetNuke4x\DesktopModules\Blog\EditEntry.ascx(21): Build (web): The server tag is not well formed." -- it further shows that codebehind file: editentry.ascx.vb cannot be found.

For starterkit, all prebuilt modules are supplied without asp code.  Would that causes the problem?
