http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Video-Library/Viewer/Video/437/View/Details/DotNetNuke-Explained-Basic-Module-Development.aspx

I watched and walked through the first part of this video above as I am sure many folks have. However, I was hindered by the fact that my New Project template did not create all of the folders and files that were created in the video. This subsequently made the rest of the video not doable for me. Would anyone care to guess how this Module template (MSBuild Community Tasks) for New Projects got screwed up? I installed it from the console in Visual Studio and it says it is installed. I also see it on the templates when creating the new project of course, too.

Perhaps a quick way of explaining the problem I am having would be to simply show you this screen shot of the differences between what the video's project looks like and what mine looks like:

The one from the video is blurry, but I think you can see and understand the differences if you squint a little bit.

Thanks to anyone for their help!

The template does not get installed - it gets copied in your C:\Users\username\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Templates\ProjectTemplates\Visual C# folder. Or you can create a folder named whatever inside this folder also. You just copy the zippped file into that folder. Then re-open visual studio.

Thank you for the reply, John. Do you know if there is a template for VB for this?

Yes Chris Hammond has made two versions 1)C#
2)VB.net
They are at: http://christoctemplate.codeplex.com/releases/view/88286
The msi (install) file for ms build has a link at above site also.
The only thing to do with that is install it.
