Current site is loaded and working fine on 6.1.2 loaded into Root directory. However site is hosted on go Daddy (and I will never use them again) however, until I can move site- I need to upgrade to 6.2;

One issue for the change is getting permission errors as the site is in Root directory and not in a subdirectory (goDaddy requirement).  I have database backed up  and downloaded to local machine.

I used the application upgrade on GoDaddy to upgrade to 6.1.3 under a sub directory  and subsequently the same to 6.2.  And I have a download from the sub directory.(ver 6.2)

What I really need to do is get the  6.1.2 live site duplicated under a subdirectory and then update that to 6.2  But since files are different...Can I do transfer using filezilla from my downloaded 6.1.2 to sub directory (does not need be the same name) then do file transfer of 6.2 on top of 6.1.2 in previous transfer?

Once the site is running okay  on 6.2 I can then do a move to a different host.

You should be able to do the transfer using an FTP tool like filezilla, though you may need to double check where your web.config is pointing for the database.

Hi Michael,

As Chris had mentioned, you should be able to FTP the files between directories provided you have access to both. You should be aware, however, that having the existing live installation in the root directory could potentially create issues with attempting to use and run the staged DNN application within the subdirectory primarily due to the paths used by the installations.

If you are still in the market for a new host, I would love to provide you some information on our hosting services. Just as a heads up, we do provide assistance with site upgrades for customers as well. Feel free to message me! :)

Solved the issue by doing manual install over 6.1.2 with download from site of 6.02 - worked fine except for 2 items:

Dark Knight package errored on install; and now it still shows under construction!

Need further assistance on what to do!
