When you said 250K was that really what you meant?

I run three app pools (w3wp.exe) on one machine. They have the default settings. They run between 150 and 250MB each (according to task manager).

On top of that inetinfo.exe is using about another 10Mb and SQL Server has about 1GB.

I'm running 6.01.02. ISTM that memory is fairly cheap nowadays. The best optimisation you can get is to throw another GB of RAM at it. It's probably cheaper than your time fiddling about removing modules.

Best wishes,

Richard, thanks for the advice.
Yes I am talking about 250kb for the application pool limit. Note that this is a shared hosting server that is controlled by the hosting company, not by me. (on my own server I control the app pool memory).
By the way, if you have control on the server, try limiting the app pool to 250K and see how it goes, since I suspect you'll be surprised.
The SQL server is not on the same machine so this is a little comfort :)
After Sebastian answer I intend to ask the hosting company to allocate more KB for the site in question, that is why I asked for some guidelines.
Thank you,
Yehuda

I am really happy to tell you that I resolved the CPU & memory issues.
Bottom line is that the application definition for “Enable 32-bit applications” was set to false in the shared hosting environment.
AS soon as we enabled it things were just fine and the app is in the boundaries of 250KB

Actually I found it since I could replicate the site on my own server and there it was OK. Comparing the two settings reviled the issue. (not that it was easy to get there  )
My host of the shared server told me that “Enable 32-bit applications = false” is the default on 64bit Shared hosting systems that relies on certain Hosting UI.

So if you have this issue you can check this out.
