Hi guys

What a nightmare this upgrade to 6.2 has been.....so many small issues, and some bigger ones.  I have two browsers installed

Usign IE 8.0 I can not even use the Rich Text Editor when trying to update the links in my HTML type module.  When I click Edit Link the edit pop-up disappears behind the main edit pop-up.  I see it for a second when I close the main edit window so i know its there, how can I focus this??

Usinf Firefow 13.0.1 its even worse.....when I login, mouseover the Manage link the menu pops up however I move the mouse down to the Edit element expecting Content to pop out an the main Content menu dis appears.  Does this 6.2 content manage area not even work with the latest fireFox???

Please note I would prefer not to update my IE.   Help!!

TYIA

What skin are you using on your website? What version of DNN did you upgrade from?

Hi Chris - thanks for you quick response

Sorry I should have said, it was from from 5.1.4 - its our intranet. we have all sorts of repository browser / repository issues......[will create own post for that of course, sorry to go off topic]

About the skin - I am a DNN virgin, never used it before. I am an ASP developer who has been asked to do the upgrade.......

About the skin - It appears one of our guys has created a custom skin looking inside the site settings. Enable skin widgets is ticked and the Site Skin = 'Host: Frame_2 - portal'

hopeful that helps?

That doesn't help too much, but I can offer you this. You likely need to add something like the following to your portal.css file (likely found in /portals/0/portal.css)

.DnnModule{z-index:100;}

If you can't access the file system, try going to the Admin/Site Settings page, there is a Stylesheet Editor tab there. Inside of that paste the above code. Save the stylesheet then try reloading one of the problem pages and see if that helps.

There were some z-index changes to DNN 6 that caused some problems with older custom skins, so I am assuming that is what you are running into, and hopefully the above CSS will fix it.

Yes i have file system access. have found this file and added the style. Becasue you are playing in the z-index space I assume its aimed at fixing the IE issue of the popu not having focus?

do I to stop and re-start something for this chnage to take effect, I am not noticing any change. Should I also be able to move the main Edit > Content window ? I cant even do this. I move the mouse up into the thick gray colored area across the top of the window, the mouse changed into a cross hair type target which usally indicates to me that it should be moveable. Should it be?
