One or more of the modules on this page did not load. This may be temporary. Please refresh the page (click F5 in most browsers). If the problem persists, please let the Site Administrator know.

I try to click F5, i reboot IIS, i reboot my PC, but nothing change i still have the same message but i don't know which module doesn't load.

My configuration : XP SP2 with IIS5, SQL Express 2005, DNN 4.3.0

Same here with me on DNN 4.3.1 (just upgraded from 4.0.1). I've IIS 6, but an otherwise similar setup to yours.

All the pages I've checked seem to work, but:

  • My (old) default skin is not being displayed
  • When I go to Login or Register I get the "Module Load Warning"
  • I've triple checked both connection strings in web.config and transferred <system.web><machineKey ...> from the old to the new web.config (BTW, I'm using the same strings here for my development computer here at work as I do on my host (websecurestores) - but it worked with 4.0.1 so I presume that isn't an issue.)
  • I also notice that the context menu's for each module/container doesn't do anything when clicked or hovered over.

Where can I find error logs? IIS log file or XP's Event Log, or somewhere else? I can't log on to see any logs under the Admin toolbar.

Well I copied the same unzipped files  (I'm using the "DNN 4.3.1 Install" version) over top of the existing install - again, and then it started working - complete with my custom skin and whatnot! Hurrah!

I would be suprised if the original copy was flakey (local drive to local drive) but maybe it got terminated prematurely or possibly the recopy forced recompilation somewhere. I had previously touched web.config numerous times as I thought that forced a recompile.
