Thank you, Mark. I really appreciate you taking the time to document this. I have other issues now but have at least been able to get beyond the basic installation and your comments were of help in that regard.

One element that threw me (for quite some time) was the need to select the non-Express version, even though I have SQL Server Express installed. Once the penny dropped (the word "file" is, I guess, important in the user experience) I realized that I should have been using the other option. It's frustrating to me that this wasn't more clear in the installation wizard.

Glad I could help!

I only knew this from the fact that the express option asks for the file name and I wasn't using one but it can be confusing.
