Hi,

Thanks for reply.. I want to create a master calendar where admin can enter all the events and then child calendars on different page, where admin can display the events for on category on page, for another category on another page. Admin needs to add the event on single page only not on different pages, please guide me about this.

Thanks

Sansugoi

The use of main Events module as a summariy of several subcalendars does not work that way. The main calendar has it's own set of events with the sum of all subcalendars. If you enter events in the main calendar, they do not end up in the subcalendars. So this way you have to enter the right event in the right calendar.

You might want to try the other way around: have 1 calendar on the main page and use this as a subcalendar on all other pages, while filtering the display of the other calendars via the URL of the page. See the documentation on CodePlex or use the filter setting in de General settings of the "other" calendars.

Hi Nitin,

I think we have a slight 'terminology' issue with the word 'master' calendar but you can indeed do what you want (I do it all the time).

Add your 'master' calendar (technically a sub-calendar) to a page and then add the other calendars. Set the 'master' calendar as a sub-calendar (in Edit Settings > Sub-calendar tab) in each of the other calendars and also for each calendar set to filter by the category required (in Edit Settings > General tab > General Settings tab, Filter Events By Category, you obviously have to set up the categories first).

You can then add events (not forgetting to set the category) to your 'master' calendar and they will be displayed on the other calendars according to category selected.

As to images not displaying, I have done some testing and images do display in sub-calendars in Week and Month View but not in List View, so wondering if you have the inner calendar set to List View.

Looking at the Image Settings, there are only settings for Month and Week Views, so suspect images cannot be displayed in List View.

One for Roger (when he gets back from holiday) or Ernst Peter to confirm please.

If you want to display images in the list view, you have to use the REPEATER control in the list view, not the GRID (this last one is still there for backward compatibility). Select the repeater in the Display settings of the module.

In the List view body template you now can use the token for the event image ([event:eventimage]). Templates are edited in the settings of the module (last tab). For a complete list of all tokens, look here.

Please remember that both the master calendar as well as the subcalendar have there own set of templates
