When I go to Host -> Languages to localize modules, I dont see all of the modules under DesktopModules, for example I can't see NTForums, SimpleGallery and Account Login.

  • Has anybody encounterd with this issue ?
  • Any idea why it happens and how to fix it ?
  • If I create the resx files by my self and upload them will they work even though I havn't used the localization platform
Regards
Lior

the first and secong are 3rd party modules, contact the developer, whether these module are localizable (they need a subfolder /app_localResources with <controlname>.aspx.resx files inside.

Thank you for your answer
I have contacted the modules creators and got no answer other then the obvois of checking under DesktopModules  in the localization tree.
Both modules support localization, and if it was a simple question I wouldnt have asked it here (I have 4 years experience with DNN).
Do I need to run synchronization ? Running it threw the host causes a timeout.
I tried to re-upload these modules but with no affect.

Lior,

synchronizing database and filesystem does not affect the localization.

are the app_localResources folder present and contain the <controlname>.aspx.resx files? Has the worker process necessary permissions to access those files and create localized ones?

The resx files exists in the app_localResources folder.
I tried to create a resx file by my self and upload it inside (in another language then english) and it worked fine.

Localization works great for other modules so I guess its not a permissions issue - I dont understand why does some modules are shown in the list and some are dont.
