I've looked high and low, and I cannot find a schema for the DNN manifest such that I can validate my manifests against.

Does such a thing exist?

the wiki has extensive documentation on manifests at http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W... , but the only xsd i can think of is a dnn5 one from http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/V...

Wait a minute - if no formal schema for manifests exist, how on earth does DNN validate a supplied manifest?

some basis schema validation is done via xsd (see Components\ResourceInstaller), and additional validation in done in code - its not ideal, and I believe it is on the list to get looked at.

I'm new to the DNN community, and I've got some passion around this topic.

I'm a dev. How can I best help out?
