I have installed .NET 2.0 and want to run 3.2.2 on .NET 2.0.  I need this because a module I purchased requries .NET 2.0 (but says it will run on 3.2.2).  After I go into the properties on the web site in IIS I change .NET to be 2.0.  I then surf to the site and get this error:

Server Application Unavailable

The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable.  Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your request.

Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur.

If I change it back to 1.1 all is well.  Anyone have any ideas?  All is fine with the original configuration.  And I've tried restarting IIS, to no avail.

Which version of IIS are you using.

If IIS 6 (Win Server 2k3) - then you must make sure you also change the Application Pool for DotNetNuke, as .NET 1.1 and .NET 2.0 Apps cannot share the same ApplicationPool, and just changing the ASP.NET version does not automatically change the Pool.

Yes, I'm on IIS 6.  I had not done that, but it didn't fully fix the problem.  I made the change and I no longer get that error.  It just starts to load then quits and says the connection was reset with the server (FF says that).  Any other thoughts?  I think you are barking up the right tree.  Thanks a lot!

I don't see how you can have a module written in 2.0 working in 1.1... you'd need to have the dll for the module in a separate virtual directory and bin, in which case this module would run independent of DNN...
