Hi Everyone,

Our DNN site has fallen over and I need some assistance in getting it up and running. Its important to note that I was NOT the original person who set it up and I was not involved in the install / configuration...however I am tasked with getting it up and running now... I have almost nill experience in web apps so please bear with me.

DNN is setup on a "intranet" server - Windows Server 2008R2 and IIS 6.0. The database is on SQL Server 2008 which is located on an SQL server. If you need any more info please ask!

The site has been running fine for approx 2-3 days...until we restarted the intranet server. Now all we get is: "This site is currently Unavailable Please check back later" with a URL that ends in /dnn/Install/UnderConstruction.htm.  So far I have tried:

- Restarting intranet server
- Recycle app pool
- Tested database connectivity using udl file - tested OK

Any help would be greatly appreciated as im really not sure what to do here!

Mathew,

as far as I read from you post, the site has already been up and running in this configuration. Is this correct?

What was the reason to restart the server? Did you install any software packages that needed a reboot? If yes: which?

Is there any information from the (Windows) event viewer that can be helpful?

Best wishes
Michael

Hi,

Mostly Dnn shows the under construction page when the database is not accessible. Check your connection strings carefully. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Hi

Please check the SiteSqlServer connection string value in web.config file. Then try to connect the db server using same credentials.

Thanks
