Is there a setting that will return the category dropdown to the precious <select> based one, without the rad combo or ability for multiple selections? I see how the new one answers a need, just in my particular case I need the old style back.

Unfortunately not at the moment, I did just have a quick look to see if I could make the radCombo work like the old one, but can't without a code change.

I'll see if I can work up a fix to optionally restore the old behaviour, but it will be using the RadCombo.

Cheers
Roger

Thanks for the quick response. I imagine most people like it the way it is, so no worries. I'll do this another way.

I'll probably do it anyway. Is it the RadCombo causing the problem or the multi-select?

Both, for different reasons. I dislike the radcombo because of all the extra styling/code needed, when a SELECT is so much more compact. I "unload" the default.css for most public users to save bandwidth and really most of those styles are for the admin interface. So my radcombo is unstyled in that mode, and there's a lot connected to it to dig out and put in. (Also I have no idea how the radcombo will work in a mobile device vs a SELECT where there is an established UI pattern for them that makes them quite usable, at least on Apple devices, etc.)

And the multi-select is overkill for say, a simple list-view calendar on a homepage, showing the latest 5 events. With a the old way it was a quick pulldown and click, not having to turn some on, others off, and then mouse-off and click elsewhere on the page for the switch to fire.
