 Hello,

The Install Package has a module called, “DotNetNuke C_Compiled Module.zip” (v6.2.2)
The Visual Studio Starter Kit has a module called, “Compiled_CS.zip”

Why are they different?

Is one preferred over another? I also would like to know if it is best to use one of these module templates as a starting point or eventually start from scratch?

Thanks!
David

David,

I always start from scratch - the reason is: I am used to it. I tried several templates, and none of them did what I needed. So I developed my own workflow, and I was always too lazy to create templates from it.

This does not mean that all templates or most templates are bullshit. There might be templates which are useful, esp. for beginners, and/or time-saving. But I decided that the best way for me is not to use them, and not to spend more time in testing templates that others wrote for their purposes.

Best wishes
Michael
