Hi all,

I searched the forum and google a lot about this.  I found incomplete solutions or some that did not work for me (or only apply to uploading)

I maybe search it wrong .. but anyway ... here is my issue. (sory if it duplicate)

I want to share big videos over a dnn portal and I faced issue about uploading and downloading them.

In order to upload .. it was not a big issue because I did not want to change the settings to allow users to upload big file.  So I simply upload them by FTP and then synch files with the file manager ... this is good ..

But now ... in the HTML module or the links module,  When I create a link to point to one document ... it return error 404.

I tried the same thing with smaller file, and no issue.

The video are about 200 mo each ...

any idea what should I do next ?

Thanks for your help

Stephane

Stephane,

go to file manager and synchronize the folder(s) where you uploaded your files to. That may help.

Anyway: To upload large files, there are a few Flash and other modules in the biotope, e.g. SwfUpload by Oliver Hine.

Best wishes

Thanks Michael,

I found the solution this morning and did not had the chance to update this post, sorry.

IIS was not configure for mp4. (y a .. no kidding. .. that was stupid from me)

when I did try with smaller file ... of course it was not mp4 ...

So I added a mime type in IIS 7 server config and everything work just fine now ...

So funny what 5 hours sleep could do :) I should sleep more sometime

Thanks again
