I'm quite new to DNN so sorry if this is the wrong place to submit this issue.

I've downloaded few weeks ago the Italian language pck from the resources -> language packs section and chosed the DotNetNuke language packs thinking that those should be the "official" language packs from the team and thus somehow better in quality than the community ones.

The italian translation simply does not make sense. It looks like someone run the strings through Google translator and published the results stright away without any check.

Some exampls ? "characters" in the editor that should state the number of letters typed in the test box become "personaggi" that indeed can be translated with characters in english, but in italian means the roles actors take in a movie, or theatre performace. Or "Secured" that becomes "Assicurato" which means covered by an insurance or "Disabled" that becomes "Disabile" which means someone with phisical or mental impairment.

Now that's quite funny to read if the thing goes into administration interface, but there are hundreds of such translation errors even in the public interface.

So please have a check on that translation thing and in the meantime remove it from the download section! you are simply loosing credibility among the italian community publishing such a translation.

Regards,

Antonello Bianchi

"Official" Language pack is already included in DNN 6.2.x distribution and may be installed using "install available extensions" in Host > Extensions. There has been recently a switch in resposibility for the Italian language pack, i.e. there should be a number of modifications going on, due to each translator having his own style influencing the translation.

Cheers from Germany,
