We are wondering if you would be able to give us an idea of the server specs.

We need this to  get an idea about the hosting we may need to host 1000 parent portals using dnn.

Also wondering if anyone else is using dnn for hosting that many portals.

Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks,

N

I would recommend contacting Sales@dnncorp.com and they can get you information about large installations of DNN.

Do you plan to use a single DNN instance for hosting all the websites?

My previous business hosted about 350 parent portals on DNN. We moved from a single, multi web-head, load balanced single instance to multiple lower end appliances instances over time.

The primary drivers for this change had to do with overall performance, de-risking client introduced errors though silo'ing, a reduction in the complexity of our co-located infrastructure, a significant reduction in hardware costs over time ($800 Dell 1U boxes), the retirement of older infrastructure and finally better performance of each portal though segmentation of databases (fewer tabids, fewer shared modules, etc)
