I want to create my own menu using HTML, CSS and possibly jquery. Once i've done this I want to incorporate into a dotnetuke site on  all my pages. How does one do this do I have to create a module for it?

Does anyone know of a tutorial showing how to include your own html menu in a DNN site?

thanks

Dave

Ive tried going through some tutorials and adding this to my HTML file

But the page errors with the following:

Could Not Load Skin: /Portals/_default/Skins/Dreamy/Index.ascx, Error: Type 'ASP.admin_skins_nav_ascx' does not have a public property named 'div'.

This does not sound like a smart idea to me. A CMS wants to generate items into the menu based on the pages in it's database. It would be a major effort to write all that code, and most of the work is already done for you.

I advise that you abandon this idea. If you want a custom menu then you should customize the XSLT template that comes with a standard install. From that you (should be able to) generate whatever html you want for the menu, and you can link it to whatever CSS and jQuery pleases you.

In practice you (probably) don't need to customize the XSLT so long as you can get your desired appearance by styling a set of unordered lists. You probably only need CSS.

Do you have anymore info on DDR menu. I've looked into it but again free tutorials are lacking. :(
