We have a client who has a need to allow certain users to access their page(s) and modify the content, add child pages etc.  Easy so far right?

I have set up a user and assigned View, Add, Add Content, Copy, Manage Settings and Navigate permissions for the page(s).

When the user logs in (on a separate login page) they are redirected to the home page and the DNN bar (Module, Pages and the View/Edit dropdown) at the top of the browser goes away.  They then navigate to the page(s) they have been assigned to and the DNN bar is still not there so they can't change anything.

So, I thought I would add an account login module on the page itself.  That doesn't even show up.

I have set up the user in a Role and tried all the above settings for the role as opposed to the user itself.  (Just the thought of creating 50 to 60 roles is a bit daunting though)

Does anyone know what I missed that can explain it in little words?

Thanks

Rapidly Balding John

John,

Is this in DNN6.02.02 or another version?

On the page(s) where the user is to have modify rights, is that set up in Page Settings | Permissions tab?

Hi Bill,

This is DNN 6.00.01

Initially, I assigned the users to the page and gave them the rights they need on the pages they need to manage.

Then I removed those entries in the permissions screen and created a Special Group role which is assigned those rights on that page.

Neither approach made a difference.

John,

I am still left wondering what is on the Page Settings | Permissions tab when you are on the page concerned? Does the role you have created show up there, and does that role have edit permissions?

AFAIR there had been a number of issues in DNN 6.0.1. I strongly suggest upgrading to latest version and retry.
