I am getting an error when I try to access my website from outside of our data centre. I have added the external static ip address and port number (204.92.21.151:33097) as a site alias in DNN under Site Aliases. Note - I am running DNN on WebMatrix and IISExpress and a Windows 7 Enterprise virtual machine. The error message is below. Can someone help me resolve this issue?

telnet 204.92.21.151 33097

Do you have a file named Index.htm in the root of your site or are you using the standard Default.aspx file?

We are using the standard Default.aspx file and do not have a file named Index.htm in the root of our site. Do you have any suggestions here?

IIS Express has to be configured in order to handle external requests. Check out this blog for more:

This blog seems to be talking about SSL stuff. I'm not interested in using SSL but need to figure out how to handle external requests. In light of this, is this blog post still useful in your mind?
