I mean on a DNN site I might have a page in my menu called Joel.aspx and it runs fine.  Yet when Iook at directories on my site there is no file Joel.aspx nor Joel.cs.   There are not any files by name of joel anything.  However there are 98 other ASPX files with names that I do not recognize.

The reason I bring this up is that I have a backup of an oldDNN 5.2 site that I want to get some content off some of the aspx pages.  So I looked for the aspx pages and they are not there.

They must be in the SQL data.

What tables would have the ASPX info and would it be possible to find some of the content from those aspx pages???????

Thanks
Joel in Houston

Joel,

there is acually only one aspx page (default.aspx), and the contents of all "pages" are injected to this page by DNN (and the information abou this is stored in several tables in the database).

To see a "file" called "Joel.aspx" is done by Url rewriting (AFAIK) - try to change the setting "Use Friendly Urls?" under Host :: Host Settings :: Advanced Settings :: Friendly Urls, then you see what is done (maybe, also clear the cache to view the effect). The rules for that are also definded there.

Best wishes
Michael

to get the content within the database, you need to know which module (definition) has been used, since each module uses its own tables to store content (you see module instance list in modules table within the database). E.g. HTML module uses HTML table for all content.
