Thomas,

I just finished installing a post-beta DNN 7.0.0 package with the trust level set to the default "Medium". Unlike the official Beta release of DNN 7.0.0, this install was successful as were uploads using the DNN file upload/picker control. This packages includes a new version of theTelerik.Web.UI assembly (v. 2012.3.1016.35) so I'm confident that DNN 7.0.0 will be OK.

If your shared hosting provider supports Full trust you should be OK to modify the value of the web.config <trust . . . /> node's level attribute to "Full" and continue running once they upgrade to ASP.Net 4.5.

I'm not sure which route I'd recommend but lean toward modifying web.config trust level of the existing sites for now then when DNN 7.0.0 is released first do a test upgrade of a local clone of each site - particularly the one at DNN version 6.1.5 which you may want to upgrade to 6.2.4 first. If those test upgrades go OK then upgrade the production sites to 7.0.0 - after making backups of both the file system and database of each site, of course.

It occurs to me that the new version of theTelerik.Web.UI assembly (v. 2012.3.1016.35) should be added to the forthcoming DNN 6.2.5 to avoid this problem on sites that do an inplace upgrade of .NET 4.0 to .NET 4.5. I checked Gemini but did not find any reference to this issue in 6.2.5 (or even 7.0.0). I did find a Closed issue item DNN-19975 in the Unscheduled version category, but it failed to discover if the hosting environment was using .NET 4.5.

Anyway, just a thought to help avoid future issues. Do you think this should be raised as an issue for the 6.2.5 release? It would provide a solution for those not ready to move to DNN 7.0.

My hosting provider recently upgraded to 4.5 from 4.0 -- I am running a DNN 5 version and the Telerik version is 2010.1.309.35

>>> I need advice on what to do now.

Sorry -- I have to make a correction but this forum does not allow for that (?!?)

I had thought the upgrade was to 4.5, but the screen shows another:

Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:4.0.30319; ASP.NET Version:4.0.30319.18034

I have a DNN 7 installation which is ok
