Hello all,

Apologies for the first time question being a support-ish query, but I am very new to all this and a touch miffed with an error.

I have installed WebMatrix, and followed the video "Installing DotNetNuke 6.1.3 with WebMatrix" as far as I was able. I already have SQL Server 2008 Express installed on my local Windows 7 PC.

DotNetNuke appears to be installed no problem, but unfortunately as soon as it loads the web browser with this URL: http://localhost:30817/ (in this case I'm using the latest version of Chrome) I get an error and am unable to complete installation / setup:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.5456; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.5456

Would anyone possibly be able to help me resolve this please?

Kind regards.

It's been a while since I used that to install DNN but see if you need to keep it open in order to access the website. That happens in other tools as they dynamically create the port in the URL and closing the application removes the URL.

Thank you Mark, I actually haven't closed anything down during installation - I let it run through all it needed to, then it automatically loads the web browser to "finish installation", at which point I get the above error...

Hi all, just to let you know that I have resolved this issue - it appeared to be something wrong with the location I had set as the default installation directory for the websites. I've changed this to a new folder and it opens the web browser no problem and proceeds to installing the default DNN starter site.
