I was watching a video on how to integrate a Twitter widget into an HTML module here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4u3m4W...

It says to copy the twitter widget into the Header of an HTML module and it works in his video. But when I try copying the code it only renders the link part that says "Tweets by Cliff Hammock" an doesn't render the actual tweets.

The widget creator looks a little different than what he shows, but I figured twitter just changed it up some. But the process looks basically the same.

Any ideas on how to get this to work? I actually tried to copy the code directly into my skin and got the same results; a link without the tweets.

Cliff,

Based on what I'm seeing here it looks like there is something missing with that sample code. Might check to make sure that there isn't updated information available from Twitter.

Mitchel, I copied the code from Twitter using the Twitter widget function on my Twitter account. I could see the script showing up in Chrome Inspect Element. So I dug around the Chrome data and found this under the Console feedback.

Widget not whitelisted for domain 'www.cliffhammock.com'

I went into my Twitter account and saw that I had set the widget domain to use just cliffhammock.com without the www. When I think of domains, I typically tend to think of the root domain without the www., but apparently twitter is a little stringent on this.

I changed this and right away it all started working. Check it out at www.cliffhammock.com (still in progress).

Thanks for your response.

I found that Twitter treats domain names as case-sensitive (even though the W3C spec says they aren't). So YourDomain.com is not the sam as yourdomain.com. Accounting for that solved my problem.

That's good to know Larry. I knew it should work and didn't want to waste money on a module to do something so easy. So now I can also create "search term specific" widgets and put it on a Category page for my blog as well. Lots of opportunities now that I got over the basic twitter widget hurdle.
