No errors in event log

I've done the usual; dumped cache, restarted the application, compacted the db, double checked there are no funny characters in the tabs table, synchronized the file manager,

In the db, I find the

  • Portals table: all records as expected
  • PortalSettings: only 8 of the 59 records expected
  • PortalLocalization: first 7 columns are normal, column 8 > to the end, are null or -1. The background column (col8) should be FileID=-1, not null.
  • PortalAlias: no entries

So... I'll keep poking about, but this is day 5 and we're still not creating templates as usual.. ouch

There's nothing much more gratifying than discovering one's own scotoma. It turns out that the server application property for the troubled dnn install was set to recycle at 512m - which was just after starting to create a new site...

So... ignore all the detailed bla bla bla above...

Ok, now we just have to fix the tab order that is getting fussed with. A couple of the parent tabs lose track of all their children on the creation process.

There's still the issue with 6.2.3 and export/import but we have a manageable work-around, so onto the creative production.

Thanks for your contributions. They are very much appreciated.
