Hi everyone

Like you probably all know, dotnetnuke can automatically display a different version of your portal based on which language the user is using. This is basically controlled with the language settings pointing the homepage to different tabIDs based on chosen culture.

However I've encountered a problem when trying to move multi-language homepages from other systems to dotnetnuke. When another system is separating the multi-culture homepages, often the domain alias is the determining factor. Thus (as an example) dotnetnuke.com would point to an english site, dotnetnuke.de would point to a german site, while dotnetnuke.dk would point to a danish site. However I can't find this feature anywhere in my dotnetnuke installation.

I would really like to know how to have this functionality in dotnetnuke :)

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem, or should I simply ask for the feature to be added in the future, and then hope it will actually come to be?

Kind Regards
Rune

you may create an IIS website per language and redirect to your main DNN using proper language parameter.

Hi Sebastian

I'm not sure I can do it like that. If I set up IIS to have a new website for each alias, and then redirect to the needed homepage, wouldn't I change the domain to some main domain name or something like that? or did i miss something?

The thing is, if i have a domain called "domain1.dk" and have it redirect to "domain2.com/DK/home.aspx", it would change the main domain name, and i really don't want that.

I want the users landing on domain1.dk to stay and navigate on domain1.dk, but to land on the danish frontpage, while those on domain2.com should stay on domain2.com, but start on the english homepage...

All I really need is some way to set the homepage for each domain, without having to switch domain.

Kind Regards
Rune
