I wanted to know whether dotnetnuke allows content- based search or not. At the same time i also want to know whether it allows us to search contents only within the site or we can search global contents as well.

Can anyone  please help  me in this respect i have been going through all the available documents but to no avail.

Thanks in advance

DNN search creates its own content, when a website search is performed, the results are validated against module permissions. DNN Search skin object also support Google search, although this might be turned off on most of the sites. For details see skinning reference or Wiki.

the search store simply stores words and a reference to the module, where it's been found - but no media type, i.e. if you are able to associate your search area with a module definition, you may filter results appropriately in a modified search results module, otherwise there is no chance besides using a 3rd party search spider.
