 Hi Mike,

We do monitor the Community Voice on a daily basis.  While the tool has been great for capturing ideas and measuring interest, it has been very limited in allowing us to provide status or feedback on particular ideas.  We do have several enhancements under development at the moment for this module which should be deployed on this site within the next week or so.  Once the enhancements are in place we will be able to respond to each issue and actually indicate if an item is under review.

The other thing to keep in mind is exactly what Cathal had mentioned.  Quite often our release plans are known 6-months to a year in advance.  This means that is quite possible that an idea could be in Community Voice for at least 6 months before there is any movement.  However, we still need to do a better job of communicating on our intent with certain ideas.  Once the enhancements are in place we will be able to incorporate reviewing ideas into our standard Product Management process.

I also look at Community Voice as an opportunity for our commercial ecosystem as well.  Commercial developers should be looking for idea suggestions as well to see if there are opportunities for them to introduce new products or features into the market.

Keep the ideas coming!

Will

Thanks Will... that's helpful and good to know...

Yeah - Cathal's comment about the release cycles made sense.

I was mostly asking because it seemed like right away a few ideas were "Accepted" and there were some comments on them from the DNN team, but, it looked like all that happened in about a one week period a few months ago. So I just wasn't sure if there was still activity in the voice thing.

Hope all's well,

Mike

Frozen, modules are out of scope of DNN Corp. and by being published on codeplex, they are now responsibility of the community. IMHO we need to find an option, how to organize the community in order to providing and maintaining a great set of useful modules for DNN Community Edition.

Hmm - I disagree in this particular instance , DNN Corp assure the ActiveModule customers that migration tools would be provided.

Bear in mind we just want a time-frame and a status update. Communication is not hard to give.
