I get the error "Error creating component installer" when trying to install a custom module. After trying a bunch of different things (mostly removing different files from the <component type="file"> node) I just removed that component node all together - then I was able to install the module.

My question is, if I include a reference to a Resources.zip file, do I even need that component type="file" node? Thanks

No, you do not need to include a component type="file" section when all file installation is handled through a Resources.zip archive that is properly referenced in your manifest.

Awesome, thanks again William!

I was installing my module without that file component node and it seemed like everything was fine, but I figured I'd ask in case it could cause problems down the road.
