Hello everyone!

One of my clients asked me to help her manage her DNN website which is based on DNN version 5.6 and store version 2.1. I myself haven't programmed in .NET for a very long time, but would hope the dnn cms wouldn't require that detailed knowledge. I am very comfortable with all forms of web development (css, html, javascript, php, asp(old!), java etc).

I am looking for documentation but am having a difficult time finding it for the store module. Being new to the dnn cms I would also benefit from dnn platform docs as well. If one of you kind souls out there would point me in the right direction I sure would appreciate it very much.

The primary issue I need to resolve asap is how to publish new products. Adding the necessary info (product image, description, weight, dimensions etc) is easy enough, but I see no publish action or "Public Viewable" flag to tell the CMS to make the new product visible on the storefront. I've looked high and low but can't seem to figure that out.

Controlling published and unpublished content is an essential function of every CMS I have ever worked with, so there must be something simple I'm missing. Perhaps the login I'm using doesn't have the correct role permissions? How can I determine that?

Again, thanks for any help you can provide.

Are you looking at Page Settings | Permissions tab for who the product page is visible to?

Is that what you are looking for?

Thanks so much Bill for your reply.

I was able to resolve my difficulties by using a link on the front end within the storefront pages (Store Admin Menu) to add a new product.

Previously I was using the Store Administration link which also allows the addition and edit of categories and products. They are very similar to each other, however when adding new products using the Store Administrator pages, the products do NOT show up in the storefront pages, whereas they do if added through the pages accessed by the Store Admin Menu link.

This is very confusing indeed!

Hi,

When you create a product or a category, the corresponding element is automaticaly published this a the normal behavior with DNN. If you don't want to publish right now an element, check the 'Archived' checkbox. When you will be ready to publsih it, uncheck then save!

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.
