I have developed a module that requires some .bin files to live in a subfolder of the site's /bin folder. I have tried the following approach:

Including the .bin file (as if it were a .dll file) in the <assemblies> section as described here: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W...

<assembly>
<path>bin\CardInfo</path>
<name>CardInfo1.bin</name>
</assembly>
<assembly>
<path>bin\CardInfo</path>
<name>CardInfo2.bin</name>
</assembly>

No error occurred during the upgrade, but the files are not copied.

Has anyone faced this problem and found a solution? I am using DNN 5.6.8 by the way.

A Bin file is not an assambly file, and not allowed to save into the bin Folder.  All other module .NET files have to be placed into the module Folder of the Destop Module path.

By the way I am not know what the bin file should be do in you module ?? Be sure you don't open security risks with this file!

I don't know why you need to copy these files to you bin folder  but there is way to do this

Just zip them op and install them as a resource files and for the location set the bin folder

I have done this before with dll files I did not want to have deleted if the module was deleted

Thanks Matthias & Armand,
The files don't contain code - they contain data and are used by a third party library, which needs them to be in a fixed location relative to the library.
I will investigate the .resources file idea.
Thanks for sharing this.
