I have modified dnn 6.2.4 to use the localization provider approach so I can add my custom localztion provider that looks up the resource in a database then fallsback to using DNN's LocalizationProvider. It works fine on pages and modules but I can't get it to work on skins.

Here is the thread that documents the changes I made: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/F... (I guess I need to submit this as a patch sometime once it works everywhere).

So the skins change language but only use the .resx files and not the database resources. This means the skins are either cached or the code to localize dnn skin objects doesn't use the localization container. Does anyone have any knowledge that can help me fix this?

Update: It looks like the dnn localization does use the ILocalizationProvider. My problem was I couldn't mix and match dnn:Text objects with asp.net style meta:resourceKey="" on a skin. The latter didn't update on a language change.

Sticking exclusively to dnn:text objects on skins works with the LocalizationProvider and therefore with my Custom LocalizationProvider.
