Ok, so I am very new to DNN, and I am trying to add 301 redirects to my site.  When I asked my webmaster to create friendly urls, which I should not call him one, he did, but now my site has two links per page.

Example:

Client Resource Center: http://www.faisongroup.com/ClientReso...

Client Resource Center: http://www.faisongroup.com/ClientReso...

When I presented him with the above issue, he gave me a link to a masive super manual and told me to basically figure it out.  Needless to say, the manual only confused me even more.

Can anyone please just tell me a simplified (or as easy as possible) way to fix my duplicate page title issue without totally messing up my site?!

Thanks!

You might want to try one of two approaches:

1.) Use a canonical url so it doesn't matter if you have multiple entry points to a page. It looks like these have to be manually added unless you buy a 3rd party commercial extension.

2.) Use a commercial rewriting solution like UrlMaster (ifinity). This will solve the redirect issue.

e.g.

http://www.ventrian.com/Default.aspx?...
http://www.ventrian.com/Home/tabid/35...

both automatically 301 redirect to:

http://www.ventrian.com/

Hey Scott.  Thanks for the tip.  I was wondering what this 301 redirect was about.  It was recommended this helps improve SEO.

Off topic, might you have any tips on how to improve SEO on DNN and in general??  There is so much information out there, it would be helpful to get a qualification.

And BTW.  I noticed you're at F5.  I became a fan of there work back when I Chevron deployed it.  Nice products.

Cheers!
