Example: I have a short upcoming events list on the homepage. I would like to have a date, title and description written out only on the homepage (no problem achieving this). I also have a page dedicated to news and upcoming events, and would like to change the structure of the repeater output yet use the same homepage module for the upcoming events list by adding the existing module (as a reference), and repeat the date, title and description but in a different structural order and with the addition of further details like end date, owner, and event thumbnail image.

Problem: As it is, the repeater templates in the events module cannot be separated for separate module reference instances. They are the same for all instances.

How do use the same events details, yet have different repeater templates?

Hi Mike,

You can have different templates for each module instance. Just put a new module on a page (do not copy an existing one), then use the sub-calendars feature to include the content from an existing module into your new one. You can then apply a different template to each module instance.

Cheers
Roger

Will this also help with your other query, where you would otherwise have to query the database if your page isn't an Events module instance. Again I think you are better building templates per page and including as sub-calendars...

I am not sure, is there a quicker way to chat about this? We can resolve a solution discussion that doesn't muck up the forum, yet provides the public with a reference after.
