Hi,

I have a scenario whereby only one calendar is required but with some events to be displayed to certain security roles only (much like the DNN Links modules can restrict links to certain roles).

I can't see that this is currently possible but just checking before adding it as a feature request on CodePlex.

Cheers.

Hi Pingle,

You can't do this with one calendar, but can with multiple. Just set the correct permissions on the sub-calendars.

Cheers
Roger

You can currently do this by using SubCalendars. Create a new Events calendar that is only visible to the roles you need. On the other calendar, choose to include other event module events (subcalendar settings) and enforce the view permissions. You'll simply have to remember which calendar you should add the events to.

Edit: Roger ninja'ed me.

That's how I would normally do things but the requirement is for one calendar only. Is this a can-do for a future release or should I forget it?

To be honest it is a fairly major change, since it would require permissions apply to every event in a many to many relationship. This would require a new table in the database. It isn't something that would get done quickly.

Unfortunately my work habits have changed in teh last year, so my development time has reduced, so will focus on things that have the greatest number of votes or which we believe are strategic to DNNs direction.

So you can raise on CodePlex and get people to vote for it which will raise it's profile.

Sorry
Roger
