I have a page that hosts a custom module. It has been displaying the following message.

"A critical error has occurred. An unexpected error has occurred"

I spent some time trying to troubleshoot the issue, with no success. I was assuming it was being generated by the custom module. As a last resort, I decided to remove the custom module. And that's the thing... I still get the message above even though the module has been removed. Now I have a completely empty ContentPane (no modules), yet that message still shows up (in the ContentPane itself, in View, Edit and Layout modes).

How can I troubleshoot this?

Thanks.

Mark

clear the recycle bin and check, whether the error persists.
besides, have a look into Admin > Event Viewer for an associated entry with more details.

Thank you, Sebastian. I cleared the recycle bin but still see the error every time I navigate to the page. There is indeed an error generated in Event Viewer when I navigate to my page, as follows. I have no idea (yet) what this means :(

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: ClientDependencyLoader only works with Page based handlers. ---> System.InvalidOperationException:

Thanks.

please go to host settings and disable combining client files, to test whether this affects the behaviour.

Thank you. Is this the "Enable Composite Files" setting?

Thanks.
