Hi guys,

I know that windows servers have this issue with loading time because they go into idle mode after a time without visits and I've been recomended a keep alive service (keepaliveforever.com) to guarantee that this doesn't happen, but this only helped me for a day or so. I don't even know if it helped me or it's coincidence, since the site runs at normal speed at sometimes, but others it lasts like 45 seconds to load on first visit and even after loaded, when I navigate within the different pages it takes too long to load each one.

I set caching to "heavy" to see if this helps me, but it hasn't. All other stuff I have it like default:

Module cache provider is set to "file, cachebility is set to "ServerAndNoCache", I'm not sure what these things mean or if they actually are affecting my loading time. Is there a keep alive service someone here recommends or something to make sites run faster? Someone recommended powerDNN, but I think it's a bit expensive for my budget right now, since I have several sites and I've been using IX Webhosting for years without major problems on non DNN based sites.

Any thoughts?

you may set cachebility to "server and private", which may speed up pages when being logged in but besides I would check the database, record count of tables Eventlog and ScheduleHistory as well as sized of database file and transaction log.

What exactly should I check in those elements and what do I do? Delete logs? How do I do it exacly?

I remember someone giving me a script for that. Also, my site isn't even that big really.

you may clear eventlog and ScheduleHistory by executing the following Statements in Host > SQL:
TRUNCATE TABLE {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}EventLog
TRUNCATE TABLE {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}ScheduleHistory

you might also clear SearchIndex (see http://www.deutschnetnuke.de/tabid/13...)
To shrink files, right click database node and select Tasks > Shrink Database > Files

Thanks Leopold,

I ran the scripts successfully but I can't find the node you're talking about. Is it supposed to be on Host>SQL?
