Hello, all...I'm having problems with HTTP Error 403.14 "Access Denied" with my LOCALHOST due to some short-sighted changes I myself made to my hard-drive with the APPCMD command.I'm looking right now at all possible solutions, including saving my work on TASKMANAGER and uninstalling and reinstalling the DNN modules. Long story short, can you uninstall DNN ??? If so, how complete of an uninstall is it ??? Does it remove all the registry entries, for instance ???THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.Jeff

you may simply delete the web directory and delete the database to remove DNN - but all your content will be gone.

Sebastian, I was eventually able to figure out that some unknown process had rewritten my C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file so that I had no outstanding IP addresses (everything was commented), and when I made the addresses "live" again (127.0.0.1 and ::1), I regained access to my DNN website (thank goodness). But that obviously raises the next question: who (or what) rewrote my "hosts" file ??? I've been doing some funny stuff with TASKMANAGER lately, trying to run DEBUG in the EDIT.ASCX and EDIT.ASCX.CS files; I wonder if that somehow threw my systme akilter ???Anyway, Sebastian, THANKS for your help !!!Jeff

Hi Jeff,
I am not aware of the taskmanager rewriting hosts file but maybe some debug tools edit the file to gain access and undo more changes when trying to restore previous state.
It might be a good idea to keep a backup of this file :-))
