Thanks for taking the time to look at my post.

I'd like a little advice.

In your opinion what would be easier to do, upgrade an existing site from 5.0.0 to 7.0.0 or do a fresh install of 7.0.0 and move over the content?

It should be noted that I'm working on a godaddy hosted server and they have some restrictions that made the setup of the 5.0.0 so painful, that I haven't reviewed it until now.

personally i would do an upgrade as not all modules support Iportable so content may not be exportable -see the upgrade section of the wiki particularly the suggested upgrade path at http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W...

I tried 5.0.0 to 5.04.04 and got :
Compiler Error Message: BC30002: Type 'Web.HttpResponse' is not defined.

What types of changes other then just the basic confirmation that I'm setup for 3.5 do I need to make on my web.config. I'm assuming that's where the problem is. I'm having godaddy re-install my .net to make sure I have the 3.5 version as the error message was showing version 2.0.

I used this http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/V... to remind me of the way to do an upgrade.

I'll post again when I know the net 3.5 is being used and let you know results.

I downloaded the 5.04.04 upgrade from codeplex (DotNetNuke_Community_05.04.04_Upgrade)

And per the instructions in the video unblocked and then extracted it.  Then copied the extracted files to the webhost and over-wrote any files that already existed.

Is there a better way to do it?
