Hi All,

I have a page when the user clicks on that Page I need to display the PDF in a new window . (I am using DNN6)

What I did so far :

1. Using the File Manager I uploaded the PDF to the server. When I click on Add Link -> (I also selected display in a new window option)

This is creating a link on the page and when I click on that link it is opening the pdf in a new window.

2. When I went to Page Management and Links and selected the PDF to be displayed it is redirecting the application to the PDF window.

I don't see display in a new window option Here. How can I display it in new window??

Hello,

I don't think this is supported in DNN.

You might be able to get around it by customizing a menu provider, but, that gets very complicated and I would only do it if it's very important.

As a side thought, many people really hate PDFs on the web. You might think about making a landing page on your site that hosts the link to the PDF, and then make your menu link go to that page. Then, over time, you can try to move information from the PDF into the normal page - which is nicer for many reasons.

Hope this helps,

Mike

DNN 6.2.5 has been announced to support opening menu links in new window, but I haven't tested the feature yet

Hi Mike - This is supported in DNN 6.2. Some one else did it and don't want to share how they did it. So I know that we can do it in DNN 6.2

I was able to create the same effect by adding a page and in the page load I am doing a redirect to the intended page with target = _ blank.

Thank you
