i created a page, named it as Login

but at Site Setting, I can't assign this page to the login page in the advanced settings.

is there a way to do this, without the need to include login module at the page?

you might need to enable the page and make it visible in menu in order to be able to select it. you may hide it again after saving site settings.

I couldn't get it to work without adding a login module on the page.

the page is visible in the dropdownlist

it just not enabled for selection

it only work if I include a login module into the page, then the page is available as selection option

What is it you're trying to achieve? If you could assign a login page without a login module, you wouldn't be able to log in to the site.
