I re-opened my support ticket at http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=24151&PROJID=2.

The launched version of 7.x has a MAJOR bug in it (in my opinion).

Non-Administrator users can't edit content when granted Edit permission to a page or module.  No edit controls (or the control panel) display for those users.

Is this really NOT considered a MAJOR bug? Can someone else verify this? I'm seeing it in BOTH of my installations (upgrades from 6) of DNN.

Mike,
I just tested this on a clean installation of 7.0 and it appears to be working as expected. I tried two scenarios:

1. Edit permissions for the entire page (Registered Users)
2. View permissions fro the page, edit permissions for the module (Registered Users)

In case 1 the toolbar presented the page and module controls and the edit/settings action icons presented on the module

In case 2 a blank toolbar presents and the edit/settings action icons appear for the module.

I used the Text/HTML module for each test and in both cases I could update the content and save my changes.

Mike, please check with a new user, existing users may have their view/edit state being saved and now don't have the Option to Switch it as they need.

I'll go ahead and install a FRESH copy later today and check this again. This is COMMUNITY Edition (not Pro) and was the Upgrade package. Steven and Sebastian, thanks for testing this out as well. (I'm frustrated because I saw this in the beta package, posted it in the support forums, and it was supposed to have been fixed.)
